About the Journal

The BRAZILIAN JOURNAL OF SPORT PSYCHOLOGY & HUMAN DEVELOPMENT (BJSPHD) is the result of the joint efforts of two institutions that, throughout their history, have distinguished themselves in the production of knowledge and the development of solid practices in the field: the Laboratory of Studies and Research in Sport Psychology (LEPESPE), at São Paulo State University (UNESP), Institute of Biosciences, Rio Claro, and the Brazilian Association for Studies in Sport and Exercise Psychology (ABEPPEx).

It is interdisciplinary in nature, focusing on the areas of Sport Psychology and Human Development, including their relationship with technology and new media. We encourage the publication of works covering topics ranging from school Physical Education to high-performance sports, from childhood to aging, and the broad areas of the Human Sciences, focusing on human movement and its nuances.

This is a continuously published journal, fully available in digital format and with free access. The journal adopts an Open Access policy, ensuring broad dissemination and democratization of scientific knowledge.

BJSPHD uses the OJS (Open Journal Systems) system for its publication and is hosted on the Journal Portal of the Library of the São Paulo State University (UNESP), Institute of Biosciences, Rio Claro, which provides the infrastructure for the journal to operate.

It is with great satisfaction that we present to the public issue number 4, volume 1, year 2025, of the Brazilian Journal of Sport Psychology and Human Development (BJSPHD) — the fourth publication of this year, which concludes the 2025 editorial cycle with great pride and proof that we have progressed in a consistent, solid, and inspiring way.

Throughout this period, the BJSPHD has established foundations, focuses, and guidelines, and is becoming increasingly stronger, always with the mission of consolidating, disseminating, and expanding the horizons of Sport Psychology and related areas, reaffirming its commitment to quality scientific production and the valorization of knowledge applied to human, social, and sporting contexts — in Brazil and internationally. Each edition published in 2025 represented an important step in building a critical, pluralistic journal deeply committed to science and society. This fourth edition, which successfully closes the year, significantly expresses this trajectory.

The articles that make up this issue embody the diversity, theoretical depth, and social relevance that BJSPHD seeks to promote, being the result of a partnership between the Laboratory for Studies and Research in Sports Psychology (LEPESPE) at UNESP – Rio Claro, and the Brazilian Association for Studies in Sports and Exercise Psychology (ABEPPEx). This institutional union has enabled the strengthening of a critical, innovative, and sensitive Sports Psychology to the multiple human, educational, and social dimensions that permeate the sporting phenomenon—and the consistent progress of the journal throughout this year is a direct reflection of this collective commitment.

We end 2025 with the joy of realizing how much the journal has grown, expanded its reach, diversified its themes, and consolidated its editorial project. May this edition, published continuously, continue to stimulate reflection, inspire transformative practices, and promote fruitful dialogues among researchers, professionals, and students.

May the next year bring new challenges, new productions, and the same commitment to scientific rigor, ethical responsibility, and a passion for knowledge.

We wish everyone an engaging, insightful, and productive reading experience.
