Abstract

This present article assumes that pressuposed there is an difference etymological, functional and symbolic terms about the game and play, whose view is not well defined in the field of Physical Education. This manifestation produces as a result obscurity that discern us from the process of historical development at which they are the games, lumber, thus building a framework for systematic and planned interventions. Because of these factors and consistent with the principles of Historical-Cultural Psychology, highlight the urgent need to consider the games as being synonymous of the games protagonized rather than any kind of games, which, in general, can be divided historically in the triad games proragonized, pre-sports games and sports games.
