AVALIAÇÃO DO GERENCIAMENTO INTEGRADO DE RESÍDUOS SÓLIDOS URBANOS NO MUNICIPIO DE DOIS VIZINHOS – PR

Abstract

One of the problems faced by the actual society is the lack of basic sanitation that involves management of solid wastes. The increasingly quantity of wastes generated in the diverse human activities, homes, services and in the maintenance of cities has been caused by economics development models, accelerated population growing, its concentration in the cities and by the change in the consumption pattern occurred in the last decades. The inadequate management of these wastes has caused negative impacts to the environment due to the damage caused to the soil, air and superficial waters that carry pollutant agents present in these wastes and that can infiltrate in the soil and reach the subterranean waters. Thus, the present work was done in the municipality of Dois Vizinhos – PR, diagnosing the management of urban solid wastes by qualitative and quantitative analysis. It was observed that the urban population produces a mean per-capita of 0,461 kg/inhab.d that is lesser than the national mean. Key words: Basic Sanitation. Urban Solid Wastes. Management.
