A new atlas generation?

Abstract

The paper explores the relations among components of conventional atlases systems and virtual flight web systems. The analysis of similarities and differences suggests that both systems have, essentially, the same function, notwithstanding considerable discrepancies in terminology, level of interaction and technology.
