School leadership has been highlighted as an important research topic in the area of educational management in international literature, which points to it as a relevant factor with regard to student learning and school climate. In this sense, it was considered necessary to develop research aiming to analyze international academic production on the topic to strengthen this debate in Brazil. Therefore, a review of literature from the last 10 years was carried out in the American database ERIC, focusing on articles specifically produced within the scope of the field called Educational Leadership and Management. There were 13 articles fully examined, whose observable aspects, such as themes, objectives, methodology, analysis and results were studied. It was observed that there is an effort to internationalize the field, which is predominantly Anglo-Saxon and that there is a growing tendency to relate leadership to the fight for social justice.
