This study aimed to investigate bullying, self-harm and emotional dysregulation in public school students, to identify differences between school years and possible relationships between the constructs. In total, 376 students from Primary II and Secondary Education participated and were assessed using the School Bullying Scale, the Emotional Dysregulation Scale Child and Adolescent and the Bullying and Self-Harm Questionnaire. Data analysis used descriptive and inferential analysis, and the results indicated the prevalence of bullying and self-harm. We found that bullying and difficulty in emotional regulation are factors present in the group of students. Significant differences were observed between school years as well as dependency relationships between the constructs. The data highlights the need for preventive strategies and psychoeducational interventions aimed at emotional empowerment and reducing bullying to reduce the incidence of youth self-harm.
